New Student Leadership Team
We are proud to announce the appointment of our new student leadership team for the next year – following a rigorous selection process.
The new head boy and head girl, their deputies and five lead senior prefects, will take a leading role in school affairs, as well as representing the school in the wider community.
George Penrose and Saskia Ryan have been named as head boy and head girl respectively, with Ole Francis selected as deputy head boy, and Poppy Bye chosen as deputy head girl. Harrison Neave, Daisy Bolton, Rianna Payne, Jasmine Pearce and Lauren Balls have been appointed as lead senior prefects, with specific responsibilities.
The nine were picked following a challenging selection process designed to mirror real-world job interviews. Applications for the posts were open to every member of the year group. Applicants were required to make a presentation, take part in a debate about social media and undergo a formal interview.
Head teacher Neil Powell said, “Our student leadership team plays a prominent role in school life. This includes presentations at internal and external school events, helping to create student initiatives, and representing the school in the wider community.
“The process by which they were selected was rigorous, to ensure that we ended up with a student leadership team which represents the very best of North Walsham High School’s student body.
“I congratulate all nine of them, and look forward to working with them over the coming 12 months.”
