Norfolk Skills and Careers Festival

Posted on: 8th March 2018

A group of Year 10 students attended the Norfolk Skills and Careers Festival this week at the Norfolk showground.

The event had a variety of stands including Further Education providers such as City College Norwich, Paston College, Easton and Oatley and the College of West Anglia; University’s including the UEA, Norwich University of the Arts and Anglia Ruskin; and local employers such Lloyds Banking Group, Aviva, NHS, the BBC, McDonalds, British Sugar, Volkswagen, Leathes Prior Solicitors and many more.

We also saw representatives from the Armed forces, Fire and Rescue and the Police. For those who were unsure of their future plans, this was an opportunity to talk to trained careers advisers at the ‘Advice Shop’ which proved to be a great success.

Miss Honey, Associate Assistant Headteacher said “It was a fantastic event for our students and was wonderful to see them all asking questions of the different providers. The students really enjoyed it and made the most of the opportunity. We very much look forward to attending next year!”.

Students, Poppy and Sharna said “Today was great and gave a good insight into my chosen career path. It was interactive to keep us interested and full of information to take away. It was a good chance for us to see all the different jobs out there and to know what qualifications we need to have for them”
